This is connected with geography, touching on climate action and linking to Sustainable Development Goal 13. Additionally, it incorporated value-based learning by emphasizing the importance of saving water to preserve life. Hands-on activities with Jodo Gyan material illustrated integer addition and subtraction. NCERT exercises, solved collaboratively on the board, covered concepts like integer opposites, representation on a number line, comparisons, and addition/subtraction. A revision test was conducted. The 'Algebra' chapter started with introductory videos. Further, the students delved deeper into the text by framing questions, discussing the aspects of comprehension, prediction and noting down the new vocabulary. They made connection with the story and tried to relate the same. Then they consolidated their learning in the written form in their notebooks. Students were introduced to written works by Mark Twain and watched the video- The adventures of Tom Sawyer) as well. In Grammar, they practiced Adverbs and its kinds so that they could apply them in their daily conversation. They understood the concept of Adverbs with the help of an activity- Adverbs Charades in which they could identify the function of an adverb. SOCIAL SCIENCEIn Geography, the students continued learning about the realms of Earth and the challenges posed by global warming. They appreciated the interactions and dynamics within and among these realms to better understand Earth's complex systems They drew a poster on Global warming to necessitate a holistic understanding of Earth's systems and a collective effort to preserve and protect the planet for current and future generations. They researched about GRAP, and challenges faced by people when AQI touches dangerous levels for living beings. They talked about SDg-13 and need for Climate action. They understood the contribution of the Gupta dynasties as a period of significant prosperity, cultural advancement, and stability in ancient Indian history. They were acquainted with their efficient decentralized administrative systems that promoted local governance, ensuring a fair justice system. Further they learnt about features of second urbanization in the topic-Village Towns and Trade. Their learning was strengthened through flow charts, mind maps and research work. Link: The Golden Age - Gupta Empire In Civics, the topic -Rural Livelihood was introduced with the discussion of farming and non -farming occupations. The different sectors of economy-the primary, secondary and tertiary sectors were discussed. The students were excited to categorize the different activities into primary, secondary, and tertiary sectors. They interviewed an housekeeper in the school to understand the condition of farmers in the village. They empathized with the problem of rural indebtedness and condition of marginal farmers and discussed solutions relating to SDG-17, Partnership for Common Goals. Students talked about how human activities like poaching and increasing agricultural lands can harm the environment and habitats SDG 12 [Responsible Consumption and Production]. Teacher helped students understand the concepts in depth through various pictures, power point presentations and video links. CHEMISTRYBeing a very vital component for our survival, learning about Air and all related facts in the "Chapter: Air around Us" in the month of December, was a very exciting as well as insightful journey for the learners. The learning of concepts was initiated with the help of following activities conducted in the chemistry lab: Activity 1: To show that air occupies space. Activity II: To show that oxygen supports burning/combustion. Activity III: To show that air is present in the soil. Activity IV: To show that air is dissolved in water. It was very fascinating for the learners to realize how various components of air are useful in our everyday life and how the balance of oxygen and carbon-dioxide is maintained during the process of respiration. GERMANThis month, students acquired skills in discussing their favorite animal with a friend. They learnt how to describe housepets. Maitzi, unsere Katze delved into fairy tales and animal tales like "The Red Riding Hood" and "The Tortoise and the Hare". Students did roleplay and wrote emails. SPANISHThis month, students acquired skills in discussing both weekday and weekend activities, learning how to organize an outing with a friend over the phone. They also delved into expressing preferences and dislikes regarding leisure activities, employing verbs such as Gustar, encantar, and odiar. As part of their grammatical studies, they focused on the verbs "Ver" (to watch) and "hacer" (to do). The class had the opportunity to ask and answer questions on the topic. INDIAN DANCECheerleading is an activity in which the participants (called cheerleaders) cheer for their team as a form of encouragement. It can range from chanting slogans to intense physical activity. It can be performed to motivate sports teams, to entertain the audience, or for competition. Cheerleading routines typically range anywhere from one to three minutes, and contain components of tumbling, dance, jumps, cheers, and stunting. Choreography was done keeping the essence of full movement intact and add the commercial elements to make the art form interesting. Learning to play different instrument with the chord progression of the song Instrument used: guitar, keyboard, drums, Congo, bass. DRAMAIn the month of December, students learned about text and subtext in drama. The curriculum included: • Delving into the process of character development. • Emphasizing the importance of building relationships between characters. • Scene work, which allows students to put acting techniques into practice. • Encouraging students to engage emotionally with their characters and the circumstances of the scene. • Ultimately, scene work prepares students for public performance. VISUAL ARTSStudents drew abstract texture landscapes and designed their own constellations. They also completed the art page in their SDG book.
